Official presentation of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2021.
The Letting Partnership’s Managing Director, Jennifer Markham has been formally presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation by the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Susan Pyper (pictured above).
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the highest and most prestigious accolade for UK businesses. In 2021 there were only 48 awarded for Innovation out of a possible 1.4 million businesses eligible to apply.
Previous winners of this award include household names such as Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover, JCB and British Aerospace.

“I’m absolutely honoured and delighted to accept this award on behalf of TLP.”
Jennifer said: “No award, great or small, can be won without the efforts, encouragement and support of the winner’s backroom team which includes family, friends, workmates and colleagues”
Making a positive Difference
Back in November Jennifer attended a celebratory Royal Reception at Windsor Castle for the winners, hosted by Prince Charles. Whilst there she met other award winners like Dr Catherine Bladen of Absolute Antibody Ltd, whose work on the testing and treating of Covid patients has been on the frontline in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
“I don’t think for one minute that what we do at TLP will ever change the world, but I do know that as a direct result of what we do we have, and will continue to, make a positive difference.
She went on to say: “Today 13 million people live in private rented accommodation and over half of them pay their rent to letting agents. Putting aside tenant deposits, at an average rent of £1050 a month that’s one heck of a lot of money being handed over to agents by tenants. Through the creation of our Financial HealthChecks, which has revolutionised auditing processes and made it possible to identify discrepancies in client money accounts in a matter of hours rather than weeks or months, TLP is at the forefront of exposing unscrupulous agents and protecting the funds of landlords and tenants.”
“Receiving this incredible award is testament to the difference we make and endorses our vision of raising standards in our industry”
“From a start-up business in 2006 to a national company handling and protecting over £25 million of rents and deposits each month TLP is testament to the fact that with the right attitude and a great backroom team anything is possible.”
The ceremony for the official presentation of The Queen’s Award was held at Highdown Vineyard on a beautiful sunny afternoon. It was also attended by The High Sheriff of West Sussex, the Deputy Mayor Worthing and the Vice-Chairman West Sussex County Council.
